Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada Inc. will hire 800 people when it adds a second shift to build more RAV4s at its Woodstock, Ontario, facility in March.
Toyota said Thursday that the new jobs will boost total employment at Toyota's Woodstock facility to 6,500 people.
Toyota says the new shift will increase RAV4 production at Woodstock to 150,000 vehicles, and the majority of RAV4s for the North American market will now be built in Ontario.
Toyota's Woodstock plant also builds the Corolla, Matrix and the Lexus RX350.
